What Clients have to say!

My pup Tucker was diagnosed with a very specific degenerative kidney disease when he was 5 yrs old. After the diagnosis and consultation with the Vet we quickly realized that the pet food industry did not have the right “kidney diet” foods available to help him and I was given a referral to Lori at Wells Pet Nutrition. After a thorough analysis of his test results she came up with a plan for us to give him the best food plan.

I’m very happy to say that he’s now 10 years old, he is lean, has a shiny coat and is full of energy. Most importantly, his medication is the same small dose prescribed 5 years ago and he remains consistently stable. We annually make tweaks to be sure his nutrient profile is in balance with his needs. We are 100% certain the food he eats through the plan created by Lori keeps him in tip top shape!

By making food for my dogs (I consult for my other pup too!) I realize that what goes into commercial pet food is not always as good as it appears to be, I highly recommend Wells Pet Nutrition!

Keegan - would not be the healthy 5-year old Brittany he is today without our having worked with Lori. I have never owned a dog before but my husband grew up with dogs. So when he brought home a puppy I assumed he knew what he was doing and I would just support him doing whatever needed to be done. Wrong! I also assumed our many friends who have dogs would be useful resources. Wrong again! So I Googled a lot and became completely overwhelmed with contradictory information. Someone at the gym recommended TrailBlazer Pet Supply. She said it was small with a lot of personal attention and the manager (that was you!) was a dynamo on food-based ways to deal with health issues. I think I have taken every course you offered and attended almost every vendor-sponsored special event. Our most successful basic obedience classes were held at Trailblazer and we continue to work with Shelly Keel long distance since she's relocated. Our DVM is Colleen Prather based on your personal recommendation.

Lori has provided so much good practical information on the pet food industry and canine nutrition. I really expected more of a product sales pitch but she never went there. You will remember how Keegan presented with an intermittent idiopathic ataxia when he was still quite young? His DVM at the time was not helpful. While we still don't know the actual cause of these episodes, they completely stopped after we switched to Dr. Prather who started him on an herbal supplement and changing his diet to one where he eats "cold" foods following an Eastern philosophy without being too crazy (which was my fear). Because I threw myself into rewards-based training, I landed up inadvertently overfeeding Keegan. You were there with us the whole way answering my product questions and doing the math to calculate the Kcals per meal and also providing valuable information on what is optimally eaten AM versus PM as well as how to pair foods for optimal absorption. As a result Keegan's coat and nails are in excellent shape. He has never had an ear infection, to which his breed is susceptible. Between feeding him raw food and brushing with coconut oil his dental health is outstanding. To top it all off -- he has good poops! Not too big and never slimy gooey -- perfect for easy pick up. You may laugh but that's a big deal for us.

Nutrition and food sourcing is so important --- for humans as well as our pets. While much of what I learned from you was glorified common sense, you don't know what you don't know until you open your mind discover the devil in the details. Quite honestly I was afraid your recommendations might be a little goofy with commitments to expensive product lines but your whole approach was education and then do whatever you can afford to incorporate into your lifestyle fort your pet. I really appreciated that.

I won't hesitate to work with you long distance when we may need to make changes for Keegan. As far as I'm concerned you earn your fee just doing that tedious Kcal math off the cryptic product packages! Sign me up if you ever develop a newsletter or listserve of clients. We miss you lots but hope you're happy in Nevada. Stay safe and healthy!
